According to Speed51.com partner site DirtOnDirt.com, South Carolina Dirt Late Model driver Chris Madden has been disqualified from this weekend’s Spring Nationals event at Smoky Mountain Raceway (TN).  Madden’s No. 44 race car struck an opponent’s crew member who was riding on a minibike in the track’s pit area.

Madden and Scott Bloomquist battled with contact in Friday night’s heat race at Smoky Mountain, according to DirtOnDirt.com.  Bloomquist eventually won the heat with Madden finishing second, both locking into Saturday’s 75-lap, $15,000-to-win feature.  As both approached the scales in the pit area, Bloomquist crew member Cody Mallory was struck by Madden’s car.

Event promoter Ray Cook told DirtOnDirt.com that he had no choice but to send Madden home for the remainder of the weekend, stating, “We can’t have people being aggressive with their car.”
