Weedsport, N.Y. – DIRTcar NE plans to give away a 602 GM crate engine with a drawing for eligible Sportsman Series competitors at the 2015 Awards Banquet.
Twelve drivers will have their name entered into the lottery after each Sportsman Series event. When the points are updated after each race, the drivers that hold the top twelve spots in the latest Series standings qualify.
There are no limitations on the number of times a driver can have their name “thrown in the hat”. There are 13 point-counting races in the DIRTcar NE Sportsman Series. If a competitor is in the top 12 in points after each event, their name will be entered in the lottery 13 times.
The twelve names entered after the latest event at Autodrome Drummond were race winner and Series point leader Mathieu Desjardins of Sorel-Tracy, QC, Jessica Power, Martin Pelletier, Louie Jackson Jr., Brad Rouse, Dave Marcuccilli, Joey Ladouceur, Shane Pecore, Dave Rogers, Todd Root, Ryan Stabler and Brianna Ladouceur.
Stabler, a Cornwall Speedway regular, raced his way into the top 12 with a 7th-place finish at Drummond.
Desjardins, the defending DIRTcar NE Sportsman Series champion, has a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd in three Series starts.
Brad Rouse of St. Catherines, ON won the Series opener at Fulton Speedway in April. Rocky Warner of Gloversville, N.Y. won event number two at Can-Am Speedway.
