Anthony Danta fresh off a dominate feature win clinched the 2015 track championship crown last Saturday night, now sets his sights on the Crown Jewel as Illiana motor Speedway hosts the 54th annual Tony Bettenhausen 100  presented by Schepel GMC Commercial Trucks of Merrillville, IN this Saturday night   Sept 12th.

 

Defending winner Brian Campbell heads a star-studded field of drivers 2014 saw Campbell outduel Anthony “The Boss” Danta in a spectacular finish to pocket his second victory, Danta is looking forward to round two. Ty Majeski the current point leader in the ARCA Midwest tour and arguably the hottest driver in the Midwest will make his first start in the historic event. Dennis Prunty the 2015 Slinger nationals champion from Knowles, WI. Will make his first start.

 

A strong list of Chicagoland talent is also entered including Four time winner Eddie Hoffman Wheaton, IL; Three time race winner Larry Schuler Minooka,IL. Just Entered three time winner Brett “The Jet” Sontag Joliet, IL and former NASCAR truck sensation Erik Darnell Ashville, NC. The night’s program will feature the Super Late Models doing battle in a 100 lap main event along with Street Stocks on the ½ mi. and the wild and Crazy 4 cylinders in the tricky ¼ mi. “The One Big Race you don’t want to miss” is this Saturday night September 12th

 

The race will carry a purse of more than $30,000 plus lap prize money and Just announced added bonuses by Lisa Thomas Salons for lap 8 $100, Lap 25 $100, Lap 50 $200, and Lap 100 $300. Special bonuses from Five Star Bodies, $100 from Power Train Technology, as well as $100 Hard Charger award from Powersourse Race Engines. The Bettenhausen Memorial “100” honors the legendary Tony Bettenhausen. The Tinley Park, IL native made 14 starts in the Indianapolis 500 with 5 top-ten finishes. Sadly, Bettenhausen’s life ended during a practice crash at the famed Speedway in May 1961 while testing a car.
