On Saturday, Brent Crews was winning while turning left and right on pavement, taking a victory in the GoPro Motorplex Karting Challenge Series. Crews showed off his versatility on Wednesday, jumping into a Winged Micro Sprint to win at Millbridge Speedway.
Crews took the top spot on lap 14 of the 30-lap feature at the Salisbury, North Carolina bullring and led the rest of the way for the win.
“I just try my best,” said Crews about his second win in five days. “I want to thank everybody that works on this car. Ten-J Chassis, Adams Performance, Matt, my mom, everyone that has helped me through this.”
Crews inherited the top spot after leader Ethan Burdett was involved in a multi-car incident exiting turn two. Before the incident, Burdett led the first 13 laps of the race and had pulled to a significant lead.
“Burdett dd a great job,” said Crews. “He checked out once when we were battling [for second]. He got caught up in an accident.
“It is what it is. He was doing a good job.”
13-year-old Californian driver Jade Avedisian finished second, with Mike Carber completing the podium. Gavan Boschele, the Wednesday Micro Sprint points leader entering this week’s race, added to that advantage over Tim Nye with a fourth place finish, while Sam Corry rounded out the top five.
An action-packed week of racing is just around the corner for Millbridge’s Outlaw Kart and Micro Sprint racers, with the Diaedge NC Race Week and the Diaedge Open Shootout up next on the schedule.
