After a hard-fought battle with Sheldon Creed which ended in a spectacular flip for the defending NASCAR Truck Series champion, Brent Crews went to victory lane in the first points-paying Micro Sprint race of the 2021 season at Millbridge Speedway.
Creed and Crews battled for the top spot throughout the 30-lap Non-Winged Micro Sprint feature Wednesday night at Millbridge. With five laps to go, Crews attempted a slide job for the lead in turns three and four.
Crews’ right-rear tire made contact with Creed’s left-front wheel, directing Creed into the wall and into a series of rolls. Creed walked away from the incident, while Crews carried on for the win.
Crews took blame for the incident during his post-race interview in victory lane.
“I’m sorry for the bad slider, it wasn’t intentional,” said Crews. “It’s just such a fast track. I did the best I could to make it happen from fourth. The car was amazing.”
Despite the incident, Creed shared on social media he had accomplished his two goals for the evening.

Micro Sprint racing is part of a busy schedule for Brent Crews. From karting to POWRi Midgets with CB Industries to 360 Sprint Cars, Crews will be getting plenty of seat time in 2021.
“A busy past few months, but a fun race. I just want to thank Joie of Seating, Adams Performance for the super-fast engines, Ten-J for the chassis, my parents, everyone who supports me.”
Nick Drake finished second, with 2020 track champion Gavan Boschele completing the podium. Chase Briscoe took a fourth-place finish, while Tim Nye rounded out the top five after starting on the front row.
