Corey Coates picked up his second win of the season and became the first New England Truck Series repeat winner of 2014 in a caution-filled event at Waterford Speedbowl. Coates took the lead on lap 8 and kept the trouble behind him on his way to victory over Frank Dumicich Jr, Erin Sollomitto, and Glen Noll.
The event saw a multitude of cautions, for spins, and cut tires. The most serious accident of the night saw series points leaders Duane Noll and Andy Lindeman get together coming off turn two, with Lindeman sliding the length of the backstretch on his drivers side before coming to rest in turn 3. The wreck ended Lindeman’s night and caused a 15 minute delay while the track crew repaired damage to the pit entry gate. Noll would return to the event and charge back to a top 5 finish, to extend his point lead over Lindeman.
The next event for the New England Truck Series is a doubleheader weekend featuring Star Speedway on Saturday July 19th and Hudson Speedway on July 20th. The Star event is the second leg of the American Sign Triple Crown.  Coates won the first leg of the Triple Crown in his other NETS victory earlier this season.
