Don Colpritt, Jr, of Scarborough, took the victory in the Pro Series NASCAR Nite 50-lap feature event. In an eventful filled race, Colpritt was able to avoid trouble in the beginning to finish strong and claim his first win since August 2012.

Westbrook’s, John Peters led the 24-car field to the green flag, but was overtaken the following lap by rookie Ryan Green, of Berwick. Cautions plagued the first half of the feature event and Green led until a caution on lap seven. On the restart, Green took the outside groove and let Durham’s, Evan Beaulieu take the inside lane. The outside proved unsuccessful as Beaulieu was able to claim the lead on lap eight.

A green flag run until the halfway mark proved successful for Colpritt as he marched his way up through the field and claimed the lead from Beaulieu, after starting in his 16th starting spot. A caution on lap 24 proved devastating for current points leader Corey Bubar, of Windham. The caution sent Bubar to the pits and unable to return to the feature event.

A late race caution on lap 30, set up for a battle between Colpritt and veteran David Oliver, of Standish. However, Colpritt was able to edge Oliver on the restart and reclaim his lead going into the first turn. Colpritt kept the field at rest for the remaining laps and went on for his first victory of the 2014 season.

Hard charger Tyler King, of Livermore Falls had a great comeback after retiring to the pits early in the race for damage, he was able to finish strong with a second place finish

In the Sport Series 125-lap feature event, Joe Pastore, Jr, of Gorham, was able to keep the field at bay as he controlled the majority of the race. Cautions were no trouble for Pastore, as he was able to keep the edge on the field on all of the restarts. For Pastore, a PASS sportsman regular, it is his first Sport Series NASCAR Nite victory.
