The month of November has quickly come upon us, which means the time for ladies to apply for the 2017 Miss Snowball Derby Pageant is running out. The Pageant is set for Thursday November 16, and it will be at a new venue at the Seville Quarters in historic downtown Pensacola, FL
The pageant is open to all women over the age of 18. Regardless of where you live in the country, or outside of the country you are more than welcome to attend. The only requirement is that all contestants must be in Pensacola, Florida for the date of the pageant and for all Snowball Derby events from November 29 through December 4.
The 50th running of the country’s most prestigious Super Late Model race brings even more meaning to the pageant. Coincidentally enough, Seville Quarters, the location for this year’s pageant, will also be celebrating their 50th anniversary.
The ladies who will be competing in this year’s pageant will wear evening wear and casual wear to determine the winner of the $500 prize, and the honor of being Miss Snowball Derby.
The previous Miss Snowball Derby, Raven Hammac, will return to crown this year’s successor.
Miss Snowball Derby’s responsibilities will include representing Five Flags Speedway at as many Snowball Derby functions as possible. Miss Snowball Derby will also be responsible for attending all victory lane ceremonies, pre-race ceremonies and fan activities throughout the 50th Annual Snowball Derby.
Hammac encourages all interested females to apply.
“If any girl is thinking about applying, don’t talk yourself out of it. I almost did, but I am so glad that I didn’t. The whole experience has been so much fun.”
There is no previous requirement needed to apply and compete to become Miss Snowball Derby. Becoming Miss Snowball Derby is more than just a one weekend term. Winning contestants will reign for the term of one year by making personal appearances, together and as a group, representing Five Flags Speedway.
