The Race of Champions (RoC) Asphalt Modified Series will see extra star power in the lineup for the Ol’ Boy Cup II coming up Thursday night at Lancaster National Speedway (NY). Modified legend Ted Christopher, known by most in the Modified world as “TC,” will be making the trip from Plainville, Connecticut to western New York.

It will be the first appearance for the Christopher in RoC competition since making two starts at Oswego Speedway in 2009, the first of which was won by the legend himself. It will also be his first start at the Lancaster half-mile oval since 2009.

TC, who is fresh off wins in SK Modified and Valenti Modified Racing Series competition last Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway (CT), will be in a car prepared by former racer Trey Hoddick. He said the deal was a throw together deal arranged by the head of the Race of Champions Joe Skotnicki.

“Joe Skotnicki asked me to do it and said he had a good car for it and I said okay,” Christopher told powered by JEGS.

The deal is so recent that Christopher isn’t entirely sure which of Hoddick’s cars he will be driving or even what car number it will be.

“I don’t know whose car it is,” he said. “They told me the guy’s name but I can’t remember it. I just talked to Trey this morning because they want to know my weight for the car. I don’t know much, but I’ll be there.”

If you cannot make it to Lancaster Thursday night but still want to see Christopher and the entire cast of RoC racers go at it for 60 laps of racing, you can see it right here on’s pay-per-view broadcast. Click here to order.
