Delevan, New York –– Chad Chevalier of Port Colborne, Ontario – Canada, never saw Freedom Motorsports Park in Delevan, N.Y., before Friday night’s Ferris Mowers 602 Dirt Sportsman Modified Series fueled by Sunoco race, but when the checkered flag fell Chevalier stood tall in victory lane after a compelling performance.

Chevalier worked his through the field into a battle with Brad Rouse of St. Catherines, Ontario – Canada, who is the current series championship leader. Chevalier worked his way into the top-five early in the race then sought out a groove that propelled him to the lead. It was the high side of the speedway and just past halfway in the 40-lap King of the Hill feature Chevalier wheeled around leader Rouse and never looked back en route to his second series victory of the season.

“This one feels really good,” smiled Chevalier from victory lane. “We had a great car and thins went our way. Any time you have to race Brad (Rouse) for the win anywhere, it’s a challenge. He’s one of the best ever in these cars. Tonight we just found the top and it worked out for us. It was a fun night at a cool track. I’m very happy we came here and added a new track to our win list.”

Rouse hung on to finish second with a bent right front shock absorber, while Tim Schram turned in an outstanding performance to finish third.

Ray Bliss finished fourth after a strong run in the top-five all night. Tony Pangrazio of the legendary Pangrazio family, rounded out the top-five.

Pangrazio, Rouse and Bliss won the qualifying races, while Adam Leslie posted the fastest time during the group time trial sessions.
