Cherokee Purse Being Supplemented by Pay-Per-View Broadcast

On Saturday, fans will #WelcomeBackRacing while watching the inaugural Palmetto Invitational from Cherokee Speedway on Speed51.  By ordering a pay-per-view ticket for the spectator-less event, they can cheer on their favorite Dirt Late Model racers in a star-studded field while also supporting those competitors.

The event is a joint venture with Cherokee Speedway, DC II LLC Concrete Construction Company and Speed51. Fifty drivers have been invited to the race, which will be contested in front of spectator-less grandstands.  The 60-lap feature event will pay $10,000 to win.

Part of that purse will be supplemented from the pay-per-view sales, as this event will not be open to the public. Tickets will not be sold and pit passes are not available for fans.

Thus, the pay-per-view acts as a replacement for the loss of ticket revenue in terms of supporting Cherokee Speedway, as well as the teams who have made the trip for the Palmetto Invitational to put on a show during this tough time our country is facing.

The entry list is dotted with some of the biggest names in Dirt Late Model racing.  From national champions such as Jonathan Davenport and Darrell Lanigan to local heroes like Ross Bailes, Chris Madden and Brandon Overton, there will be no shortage of competition at “The Place Your Momma Warned You About.”

The event will also benefit The One SC Fund through a portion of the pay-per-view sales.  The One SC Fund is currently activated to fund statewide COVID-19 response efforts in a partnership between SC Grantmakers Network, Together SC, and the United Way Association of SC.

Speed51 yearly subscribers will receive 10% off the purchase of Saturday’s broadcast.

Don’t miss out on your chance to watch an exciting return to racing and show your support for the best Dirt Late Model racers in the country. Click here to order your pay-per-view ticket for the Palmetto Invitational today.
