CARS Tour officials announced Thursday that Brandon Setzer’s suspension has been reduced to one race following an appeal hearing held Wednesday, May 24. Setzer was initially suspended for the remainder of the 2018 season following an altercation in the pit area during the CARS Tour Super Late Model race at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC) on Saturday, May 5.

Setzer already served his one-race suspension during the recent event at Bristol Motor Speedway (TN) and will be eligible to compete in the next CARS Tour event.

In addition to Brandon Setzer’s suspension being reduced, team owner Dennis Setzer had his suspension reduced to three races. He will serve out his penalty during the CARS Tour events on June 9, 2018 at Anderson Motor Speedway (SC) and August 4, 2018 at Hickory Motor Speedway.

The penalties come following an incident in the pit area at Hickory in which Brandon Setzer ran from his pit stall to confront Kyle Busch Motorsports driver Raphael Lessard after an on-track incident. Upon his arrival at the KBM pit stall, a skirmish broke out when Setzer confronted KBM crew members.

Lessard was penalized and sent to the rear of the field for his involvement in the on-track incident Saturday night.
