By the Numbers: Speed51’s 2019 Summer Thunder TV

Earlier this week, it was announced that Summer Thunder TV presented by PFC Brakes would be returning to for the third consecutive year.  While we normally reserve this “By the Numbers” feature for major short track races, we decided to dive into the numbers for this year’s Summer Thunder TV schedule.


2: Race fans on the Speed51 Network will get two chances to see Blizzard Series races at Five Flags Speedway leading up to the 52nd Annual Snowball Derby in December.  With races on Friday, June 21 and Friday, July 19 the quest for the Blizzard Series championship should be well in form.


6: Our Summer Thunder TV schedule includes five asphalt Super Late Model touring series (Southern Super Series, Granite State Pro Stock Series, ARCA Midwest Tour, SRL Southwest Tour, and PRA Super Late Models.) and three independent shows at State Park Speedway (WI).  If you love Super Late Models then we are your home for racing around the country this summer.


5: Caraway Speedway and Star Speedway will each show off five races on the card on their respected nights. Caraway will be highlighted by the first PRA Tours Super Late Model event, while Star will be highlighted by the ISMA Supermodifieds.


7: The Speed51 staff will be hard at work all summer with races being streamed not just on weekends, but every day of the week at certain points of the schedule.  Some races are on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and so on.  Keep an eye on the schedule to see the next event.


17: In all, some 17 states will be on the broadcast schedule.  They include: Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania,  South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.  Also on the list will be a stop in one Canadian province.


27: Speaking of July 27, that day may wind up being the busiest day in the history of  Five short track racers are scheduled to be streamed live that night including the SBM 125 at Star Speedway, FUEL Racing Series at Cherokee Speedway (SC), Larry Detjens Memorial at State Park Speedway (WI), Wheelman Racing Series at Citrus County Speedway (FL) and the New Hampshire Governor’s Cup 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park (NH).


29: The cost (in cents) that it averages out to for each race aired during the Summer Thunder TV schedule.  That’s right.  If you become a monthly subscriber during this period, you will be paying only 29 cents per race.  Yearly subscribers gain even more value with additional live races scheduled to be aired before and after the Summer Thunder TV period each season.


33: The 2019 Summer Thunder TV schedule includes stops at 33 tracks, 19 on asphalt and 14 on dirt.
