As we close in the on the Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco / Blizzard Series finale we take a look at some of the numbers that we will be keeping and eye in the points battle. We also look at some of the fun statistics with the Super Late Model drivers as we gear up for the Snowball Derby.

2W: Donnie Wilson in the 2W car comes into Five Flags looking to do one thing.  Win.  The second-place man in Southern Super Series points and the third-place man in Blizzard Series points can only go to Pensacola and eye the win.  Hopefully for him the points will take care of themselves.

6: Teams will get six tires for this race which is different than the normal Blizzard races that are 100-laps for four tires.

7: It’s the car number of the Blizzard Series point leader Casey Roderick.  Looking for his first title at Five Flags Speedway Roderick will almost be a lock to get into the field at the Snowball Derby.  His best finish was 16th in his only Derby start back in 2010.

9: Casey Smith is only nine points back in the Blizzard Series points.  Despite no wins at Five Flags he could end up the champion in the series if Casey Roderick has trouble. Smith could bag two titles as he leads the SSS.

10:  Bubba Pollard is the series leader with 10 wins in both the Blizzard Series and the Southern Super Series.  He may be out of it for the points, but he’ll be gunning for a win.  Pollard has been strong this year, but has not had the luck to go with it.

12: This will be the 12th Southern Super Series race at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida which is the most of any track.  There have been seven different winners in those 11 prior races.

26: Bubba Pollard drives the number 26 car and he will be one to watch this weekend as he’s the unofficial king of the Blizzard Series.  He’s the only repeat champion in the past 11 years and he has 10 wins in the series.

31: Kyle Grissom drives the 31 machine and he’s already taken a win at Five Flags Speedway this season in the Southern Super Series.  Grissom is 33 points for the Blizzard title which is reachable, but he’d have to have some help to claim a title.

41: This weekend Bubba Pollard will run the race marking his 41st consecutive start in the series.  He is the only driver that has run them all. Also car owner Jake Carswell with the 98 team has fielded a ride in all 41 events.

48: This year’s running of the Snowball Derby will be the 48th year the race has taken place.  Once the checkered flag falls on Saturday night we will have to wait 71 days until the big race.  I know some of us can’t wait.

62: Casey Smith comes into the season finale with a 62-point lead for the Southern Super Series title. A top 15 finish should lock up the title for him.

79: Kyle Bryant drives the 79 car and is looking to finish in the top 10 in Blizzard points to perhaps have a shot at a provisional starting spot in the Snowball Derby.  He’s finished all but one lap this season in the Blizzard Series as he is still seeking his first Snowball Derby start.

99: The Austin, Texas native Casey Smith in the 99 ride will look to capture the Southern Super Series crown this weekend in the 150-lap race.  Smith has never won at Five Flags, but could also be the track champion for the first time with a good finish.

150: The Blizzard Series Super Late Models will go 150-laps for the season finale and the last chance to get on track race action at Five Flags Speedway (FL).
