Four short track racing divisions will be in competition during the second running of the New England Short Track Showdown at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend.  We take a look at this year’s event in this edition of “by the numbers” on Speed51.com.

4: The number of divisions that will be competing at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend.  The Valenti Modified Racing Series, Granite State Pro Stock Series, North East Mini Stock Tour and Street Stock Showdown Series will be in competition.

4: Woody Pitkat is a four-time winner at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  He won an ACT Late Model race last fall and a Valenti Modified race in July.  His other two wins have come with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.  Pitkat also finished second in the Mini Stock feature last July as well.

4: Jon McKennedy is a four-time MRS champion with 23 wins in the series. He won eight times in 2016 to win his most recent title. He will be behind the wheel of the Gary Casella-owned No. 25 this weekend.

5: Matt Frahm and DJ Shaw are the all-time wins leaders in the Granite State Pro Stock Series.  Each have five wins, but neither have won the series title.

08: Mike O’Sullivan is a two-time Granite State Pro Stock Champion with four career wins. He hopes to improve his finish of fourth from a year ago.

10: Eddie MacDonald is a Late Model stud at New Hampshire.  In three different series he has a total of seven wins.  Add in three NASCAR K&N Pros Series East wins and he’s tied for second on the track’s all-time wins list behind Kyle Busch.

12: Anthony Nocella won five times last year on the Modified Racing Series circuit to win the series title.  He’s been a off and on competitor who has 12 wins in 65 starts.  Watch for the Massachusetts driver to run well at The Magic Mile.

20%: Eddie MacDonald has 10 wins in 48 starts, which gives him a winning percentage of just over 20 percent at NHMS.

21: Veteran racer Les Hinckley will be making his first career start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend. He’ll be behind the wheel of the Art Berry No. 21 Modified.

30: The North East Mini Sock Tour and the Street Stock Showdown Series will each go 30 laps in their feature event.

36: Corey Hutchings won two of the three Street Stock Showdown Series races in 2017 including one at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  Look for the No. 36 ride to be strong again if he’s in the field.

50: The Granite State Pro Stock Series and Valenti Modified Racing Series features will each by 50 laps.

85: Ron Silk will pilot the No. 85 ride in this weekend’s race.  Silk is a multi-time winner at New Hampshire.

100: Last year, the late Ted Christopher ran the MRS event and finished second to Woody Pitkat.  Later that month TC would run his final two races at NHMS to bring his starts total to 100 at the mile track.  TC ran nearly 9000 laps at the track during his career.

160: There will be a total of 160 laps of feature racing on the one-mile track.
