By the Numbers: Kalamazoo Klash XXVII

Wednesday night marks a crown jewel evening for Outlaw Super Late Model racers, as the discipline’s finest will descend upon Kalamazoo Speedway (MI) for Kalamazoo Klash XXVII.  Not only will the Outlaws take on Kalamazoo Wednesday, but there will also be an ARCA/CRA Super Series event for Template Late Model competitors to add their name to the legacy of the Clash.

Before tonight’s race, which you can watch on Speed51 via our pay-per-view broadcast by clicking here, get up to speed with this By the Numbers preview.

3: Tyler Roahrig looks to win the race for a third-straight year after picking up wins in 2017 and 2018.  He’d become only the second driver to accomplish that feat, joining Terry Senneker Jr. who did it first from 2012 to 2014.

3: Time trials for the Kalamazoo Klash will feature three laps on the watch.  They will all be gunning for the fast time award.

3: Both Tyler Roahrig and Brian Bergakker have finished second in the Klash three times.  For Roahrig, he’s been in the top-two spots five times in the last seven years.

4: Steve Needles is a four-time Klash fast qualifier.  We don’t say polesitter as the Klash always has an invert among the top time trialers.

5: Terry Senneker, Jr. is the only five-time winner of the Kalamazoo Klash.

11.759: The Kalamazoo Klash qualifying record is 11.759 which was set by Terry Senneker Jr in 2014. Cooler then normal conditions led to the record along with blazing grip on the track.  The Template Track record was also achieved on the same day by Kyle Busch with a 12.257.

17: Andy Bozell will be looking to make yet another run in the Kalamazoo Klash. He’s never missed a show at the Kalamazoo Klash. In all, Andy Bozell has 17 top five runs.

125: Both feature events will be 125 laps at Kalamazoo Speedway.

1993: The first Klash was held in 1993.
