By the Numbers: 50th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend

1: The number of points separating ARCA Midwest Tour championship contenders Austin Nason and Casey Johnson entering Sunday's 200-lap season finale.

 

4: Michael Bilderback is on the verge of locking up his fourth Big 8 Series title this weekend. He won the Big 8 Series finale during Oktoberfest last year.

 

5: Joe Shear is the all-time winner of the Oktoberfest 200 main event.  His five wins came in 22 starts, which saw him have 12 top-five finishes and 16 finishes in the top 10.

 

7: In the main events, Ty Majeski has a total of seven wins, three in the JMcK 63, two in the Big 8 Series race, one in the Trickle 99 and one in the Sunday Midwest Tour finale.

 

7: Dan Fredrickson has seven wins between the Dick Trickle 99 and the OctoberFest 200.  He’s the only driver to win the Dick Trickle 99 more then once.

 

8: The Big 8 type cars will race twice on the weekend. Once in the Big 8 Series finale Saturday night and then the JMcK 63 on Sunday.

 

31: Sunday’s finale has 31 expected entires as of midweek.  We will expect more going into the weekend.

 

50: This is the 50th year of Oktoberfest Race Weekend at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway.  It’s not a build up to one race, it’s an event with opportunities to race the same car several times over the weekend.

 

99: Dick Trickle was from Wisconsin and his famed No. 99 cars won all around the county.  The race in his honor at Oktoberfest is 99 laps, but wait there is more. The race is broke into three segments which are 33 laps each.  You have to pass cars to earn the lowest number of points.  In 11 previous runnings, Dan Fredrickson is the only multiple winner with three wins.

 

200: The 200-lap Sunday finale has been racing on since 1970, with ARTGO, NASCAR, ASA and the ARCA Midwest all being involved throughout the years.

 

486: The number of drivers who have raced in the Sunday event since 1970.

 

600: There will be over 600 laps of racing during the weekend in 19 divisions.

 

2010: In 2010, Dan Fredrickson won both the Dick Trickle 99 and the Oktoberfest finale.
