It takes more than just a good driver to win short track races. In many cases, it is the people behind the scenes that make the ultimate difference between winning and losing. A perfect example of the people involved behind the scenes are the folks at Buzze Racing, who specialize in drivetrain sales and service.
Based out of Mooresville, North Carolina, Buzze Racing is a family-owned and operated business that has over 30 years of experience in the racing industry. The company offers a variety of services to their customers including 9” rear end gear rebuilds, quick change rebuilds, transmission rebuilds and driveshaft rebuilds.
Buzze Racing is coming off a very successful 2017 season in the short track racing ranks with victories in crown jewel races such as the Martinsville 300, All American 400, Winchester 400 and Snowball Derby.
“We’re racers. We love what we do,” Buzze told Speed51.com powered by JEGS. “Everything we work on, whether it be something for a Super Late Model, Late Model Stock, Street Stock, we take so much care and so much pride on what we work on. And we work on it like it’s our car. That’s why it’s cool to work with fellow racers and give them the best we can give them.”
In addition to providing products and services to racers away from the track, the Buzze family also offers at-track support. One of the best examples of that came during the 2016 Snowball Derby when Super Late Model racer Preston Peltier crashed in practice. The Buzze Racing crew was called in and went to work right away fixing the rear end on Peltier’s No. 48.
“It’s huge to support them at the race track. When they’re there digging and they have a little issue, a concern or question, we’re there to do whatever we can to help them, especially driveline related,” Buzze stated. “A lot of times we can relate to a driver because we do this too. What his feel is or what he wants the car to do, I can relate and my Dad does the crew chiefing and he raced. We can try to get them where they want to go with our knowledge.”
At the Snowball Derby alone, nine out of the top-10 finishers were using components from Buzze Racing.
“We did a lot at the Snowball Derby, tearing stuff apart and making sure it was 100-percent right for that race,” Buzze explained.
Much of the success for Buzze Racing comes from the fact that they make sure every product that exits their shop is 100-percent right. Thus, their list of winners and their success nationwide speaks for itself.
