The 2019 racing season at the historic Five Flags Speedway is jam-packed with racing action and fun for the entire family.  Officials from the track in Pensacola, FL announced today 17 dates throughout the year of a variety of forms of motorsports, including the 52nd Snowball Derby on December 4 - 9.

2019 will be the 16th year of the Deep South Cranes Blizzard Series.  Some of the top Super Late Model teams and drivers will make their way to the Panhandle of Florida on four occasions this year.  While people in other parts of the country are still frozen from a hard winter, the Blizzard Series will kickoff on Friday, March 29.  The second and third events of the mini-series will occur in the middle of the summer, on the Friday nights of June 21 and July 19.

The Blizzard Series finale will be a special event, a double-header with the Allen Turner Pro Late Models on Saturday, September 21.  The Blizzard Series champion, or quite possibly a driver in the top 10 in points, will be guaranteed a spot in the Snowball Derby if he or she does not qualify into the race.

The Blizzard Series is also part of the Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco.  That series schedule announcement is slated for Monday, January 7.

The aforementioned Allen Turner Pro Late Models will also have four dates at Five Flags Speedway in 2019.  In addition to the finale on September 21, the Pro Late Models will also compete at the half-mile oval on April 26, June 7 and August 16.  All three of those dates are Friday night shows.

“We are excited for all of the racing we have this year, especially the fact that this is the 16th year of the Blizzard Series,” said Tim Bryant, promoter of Five Flags Speedway.  “We tried to listen to our racers and our fans and attempted to keep our schedule as diverse as possible.  We plan on bringing in some specialty events this year as well.  But, thanks for our division sponsors, we are able to offer a great mix of racing and we plan to focus a lot of our efforts on our local divisions as well.”

The local divisions will be part of the big ARCA 200 weekend on March 9.  Faith Chapel Outlaws and Lloyd’s Glass Pure Stocks will also be on the racing card as the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards makes its first appearance at Five Flags Speedway in more than 20 years.  Tickets for the big event to begin the month of March can be purchased by calling the ARCA Ticket Hotline at 850-941-4343.  Coincidently, the Outlaws will race nine times and the Pure Stocks a dozen times overall this year.

The fast WCIparts.com Pro Trucks and the popular Dock on Pensacola Beach Sportsmen divisions will make their debut on the same date as the Blizzard Series opener, Friday, March 29.  The Pro Trucks and Sportsmen divisions will each race nine times at the speedway this year.

The weekly divisions will have their night in the spotlight on Saturday, September 14 with their “Night of Champions.”  Each division will crown a track champion at the conclusion of the races.

The King of the Wing Sprint Cars are always a fan favorite at Five Flags Speedway.  The Winged Warriors will make the annual stop at the track on Friday, April 12.

The crazy racing of the Modifieds of Mayhem will appear three times at Five Flags Speedway this year.  They will share the racing card with the debut of the Allen Turner Pro Late Models to make their first appearance on Friday, April 26.  The Modifieds of Mayhem will be the featured act, along with the only demolition derby event of the year, on Friday, August 2.  The final event will be on Friday night of the Snowball Derby weekend.

The Snowball Derby Preview will take place on Saturday, November 23, just two week before the season closing event.  To open the 2019 season at Five Flags Speedway, the Sweat Hog Grand Prix, enduro-style event will take place on Saturday, January, 19.
