Corbin, KY — Josh Brock heads to Anderson Speedway this weekend for the first point race of the ARCA/CRA Super Series season. As the Kentucky driver hits the track, he’ll do so as the defending ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion and with sky high confidence heading into the 2019 season.
“This is the most excited and confident I have ever ben going into a season,” said Brock. “I have great cars and a great team and a great partnership with Wimmer Motorsports. I have good notes on all the racetracks. We beat cancer and won the championship last year, plus we’re coming off a good run at the Rattler at the start of this season, so I feel great about this year.”
Not only does Brock start the 2019 CRA point season with high hopes, he also enters the season-opening event at Anderson as the defending race winner. A year ago Brock earned his first CRA Super Late Model win at the high-banked quarter mile.
“I absolutely love going to Anderson,” said Brock. “Growing up around bullrings you have to be on your toes every single lap and up fighting on the wheel. That combo works well for me and I’m excited to get back there and compete for the win again.”
The 2018 ARCA/CRA Series Championship was a career highlight for Brock. While that trophy still shines brightly, the start of the 2019 CRA season is a little bit different for Brock than years past.
“The biggest thing is you don’t have that monkey on your track wondering if you can ever win a championship,” said Brock. “I want to win more races, but as a driver, you don’t have the stress of when or if you will be a champion of a premiere touring series. I think that’s the great thing; it’s one less thing to worry about and now the focus can be on chasing victories.”
