Brad Keselowski Going Dirt Racing in Georgia This Friday

(Cochran, GA)  Cochran Motor Speedway is set to crank up their racing season this Friday and Saturday night.  The 3/8ths mile dirt track will host the make-up date for the Gobbler 100 that was rained out last fall on Friday evening with another full show slated for Saturday night.  Super Late Model drivers from around the nation will be on hand Friday chasing after the Gobbler 100 top prize of $20,000.  Georgia’s Brandon Overton is expected to try and keep his winning ways rolling in 2021.  The Evans driver has already picked up big pay days at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, SC) and Modoc (SC) Speedway the past two weekends.  Cochran Motor Speedway’s double-header weekend will include racing in the Super Late Models, CRUSA Street Stocks, 602 Late Models, Bombers and the Crate Late Model division.

 

Former NASCAR Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski has entered Friday night’s Crate Late Model race. Keselowski is looking to gain valuable dirt racing experience before the upcoming Cup Series event on March 28 at Bristol Motor Speedway, the first dirt race for NASCAR’s premier division since 1970. Keselowski previously competed on dirt in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Eldora Speedway in 2015.  He will be in action Friday night with hopes to advancing to the starting lineup for the feature event.

 

Saturday night’s show will be highlighted by the CRUSA Street Stock World Championship paying $5000 to the winner.  The Super Late Model drivers will also have a second night to chase some good cash payouts along with the Crate Late Models, 602 Late Models and Bombers.

 

Friday’s gates times are Pit Gates opening at 12pm and the Grandstands Gate opening at 3pm. The Drivers Meeting will take place at 5:30pm and Hot Laps crank up at 6pm.  Pit Admission is $45; Kids age 6-10 are $20 while five & under are admitted for free. Grandstands Admission $30; Kids age 6-10 are $15 while five & under are free.  Rainout Armbands from the November race will Be Honored for this Event Only.
