The Draco Springs “Spring Forward” Award is given to the biggest mover throughout the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway (FL).

Anderson Bowen of Suwanee, Georgia is the recipient of this year’s Spring Forward Award as a result of gaining 26 spots throughout the 300-lap race on Sunday, December 7.

Bowen started 35th out of the 37 cars that took the green flag.  He used pit strategy to get up front and eventually lead two laps of the Snowball Derby.  He was involved in a mid-race incident in turn one, but was still able to salvage a ninth-place finish.

Ironically, David Rogers received the award in 2013 for moving up 26 spots as well.

The competition is so deep at the Snowball Derby that just about anybody who starts the race has a chance to win, regardless of how deep in the field they start.  Bowen proved that by coming from the back to lead laps and eventually recording a top-10 finish.

For his performance, Bowen is the winner of the 2014 Draco Springs Spring Forward Award.  He will receive two Draco purple springs for his performance in the 47th Annual Snowball Derby.  For more information on Draco Springs, visit them online.
