Street Stock racing has long been one of the most exciting forms of grassroots racing in America.  In 2019, one of the biggest Street Stock races in the country will be showcased to a national audience on the MAVTV Motorsports Network on Wednesday, February 13.

Dillon Motor Speedway (SC) officials have announced that the 9th Annual New Year’s Bash will air via a tape-delayed broadcast on Speed51’s Short Track America on MAVTV.

“We’re very excited for this opportunity to showcase grassroots Street Stock racers to a national audience,” said Dillon Motor Speedway owner and promoter, Ron Barfield.  “We’ve been working really hard to put this together for our racers and we’re thrilled to team up with Speed51 and MAVTV to get it done.  As a race that includes true grassroots racers, this event is a perfect fit for everyone involved.”

The 9th Annual New Year’s Bash will be held on January 4-5, 2019 and feature 109 laps of racing around the Dillon, South Carolina oval.  Drivers from all over the country are expected to compete in the event, with some traveling from as far away as Indiana, Maine and Wisconsin.

“Street Stock racing is the definition of bad-to-the-bone,” said MAVTV broadcaster and owner Bob Dillner.  “We’re pumped up to bring this awesome event to a national audience and showcase this particular group of grassroots racers who put their blood, sweat and tears into their racing.”

Speed51 TV will produce the tape-delayed broadcast using a multi-camera format that includes replays, network TV–style graphics and on-board cameras. A full broadcast team, including a pit reporter, will be on hand for the New Year’s Bash.

Speed51’s Short Track America will deliver a one-hour broadcast of the race for the viewers on MAVTV on Wednesday, February 13.
