The New Year’s Bash will be held once again at Dillon Motor Speedway (SC) on January 8-10, 2021. The event has become one of the premier Street Stock races in the country, attracting entries from several states.
Once again, the main event will be filmed for a national television broadcast on MAVTV. This year’s race will be 111 laps in length to coincide with the 11th annual running of the New Year’s Bash. The race will also air live on Speed51.TV for premium subscribers.
Gates will be open at Dillon for hauler parking Friday, January 8, with the day also acting as an optional open practice. Teams will have more practice Saturday, January 9 before they qualify for Sunday’s action. Grandstand admission for both days will be free.
Sunday’ January 10 will be race day for the New Year’s Bash. The 111-lap MASS Street Stock main event will pay $2,500 to win, with the B-Main paying $500 to win. Challenger AR’s, Carolina Mini Stock Challenge 4-Cylinders, Front Wheel Drive UCAR’s, Pure Stocks and Bangers will also join the card for Sunday’s racing.
Kevin Benton won the inaugural New Year’s Bash in 2011, which was held as a 150-lap event. Gary Ledbetter Jr. is batting .500 in the New Year’s Bash, having won five of the 10 races that have been held. Jeff Melton, Ricky Locklair Jr., and Wisconsin native James Swan have also won the New Year’s Bash.
