Berlin Raceway Offers Update on Injuries From SLM Incident

Following a terrifying crash at Berlin Raceway during the track’s Super Late Model racing Saturday, two drivers are recovering from injuries sustained in the incident.

Berlin Raceway offered an update on injuries sustained by Boris Jurkovic and David Fretz during an incident on Saturday.

Boris Jurkovic and David Fretz were both hospitalized following the incident.  Berlin Raceway offered the following update on their condition on Sunday.


“Boris Jurkovic remains hospitalized following last nights accident. Boris sustained leg fractures to both legs. Boris is awake, alert and remains in good spirits.


David Fretz underwent surgery today for injuries sustained in yesterday’s crash. At this time, doctors have not provided any further updates.”


The statement from the track requested respect and consideration for everyone involved, and promised further updates as more information becomes available from the families of those involved.  They also asked for continued thoughts and prayers for Jurkvoic, Fretz and their respective families.


The injuries occurred during a multi-car incident during the closing stages of the track’s first Super Late Model feature of the day.  Kody Swanson took the win in that race, while Tom Thomas won the second race of the evening.
