Available Camping Spots Dwindling for 52nd Snowball Derby

Since tickets for the 52nd Snowball Derby went on sale back in August, the response from race fans has been nothing short of spectacular, with Five Flags Speedway already on course to welcome another tremendous crowd to Pensacola, Florida from December 4 through December 8. Mirroring the high the demand for tickets is a similar demand for camping spots, and time is running out to reserve a spot.

Even with two months still to go until Derby weekend, already the spots closest to the race track have been claimed. While limited spaces do remain, Five Flags Speedway President Tim Bryant is urging race fans who want to camp out come December to claim their space now.

“While the on-site camp ground is full, we do have some overflow space left at Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds, about a mile south of the track, which is where our satellite parking is as well. We are going to have the free shuttle service back for this too for everyone that is camping and parking down there,” Bryant told Speed51.

If you want to purchase one of the remaining camping spots for the 52nd Snowball Derby, call the Five Flags Speedway office at 850-944-8400.

While the event schedule for the Snowball Derby holds at five days in 2019, the racing portion of the schedule is reverting to a four-day format. The much-anticipated Snowball Derby and Snowflake 100 Qualifying Draw and Green Flag Pit Party are all slated for Wednesday evening, December 4; with the first on-track action set for Thursday, December 5 with Super and Pro Late Model practice during the day, and racing at night for the Pro Trucks, Sportsmen, and Pure Stocks.

Friday, December 6 sees one of the most intense qualifying sessions in all of racing across the world, with Super Late Model time trials for the Snowball Derby on tap, along with the season finale for the Modifieds of Mayhem Tour.

On Saturday, December 7 it is wall to wall action throughout the day, with the Snowball Derby Last Chance Race for the Super Late Models, a 50-lap show for the Outlaws, while the Pro Late Models face the full gauntlet that is the Allen Turner Snowflake 100.

Then finally on Sunday, December 8, all the efforts come to head with 300 laps of Super Late Model racing in the 52nd Snowball Derby.

With one of the most stacked fields in the over five decades coming together for this legendary race, you are not going to want to miss a thing. All the more reason to camp out, so you don’t miss a moment.
