Newnan, Georgia — With momentum in his corner Austin Horton stormed into Dixie Speedway on Saturday night in his Vape’s Gone Wild #16 Wood Motorsports/ Orr’s Towing/ Super K Express/ XR1 Rocket Chassis by Clint Smith Super Late Model. By the time the night was done he had claimed his first Super Late Model win at Dixie Speedway and his fifth win triumph of 2018.

“It feels great to finally get a win at Dixie Speedway,” Horton said. “I had a little bit of a scare there late in the race because we had a transmission seal go out. It resulted in a mess under the car and I could smell the oil – especially late in the race – so I didn’t want to push it too hard in the closing laps. Luckily everything worked out.

“Our car is really great right now, and I just hope we can keep this momentum building. Thanks goes out to Wood Motorsports an all of our supporters!”

Behind the wheel of the Orr’s Towing #16 Super Late Model, Austin Horton visited Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) on Saturday for the Weekly Racing Series Event. In a field of 17 cars, Horton laid down the fastest time in qualifying, which locked him into the pole position for the feature.

Jumping into the lead on the drop of the green flag, Austin led wire-to-wire to pick up his fifth win of the season. Aaron Ridley, Ashton Winger, Shawn Chastain, and Jason Croft completed the Top-5 finishers.
