ARCA West Champ Sets Fast Time in Sunday SLM Qualifying

2020 ARCA Menards Series West champion Jesse Love made his first national impression during last year’s World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.

Love set fast time during the qualifying session, with a lap of 17.630 seconds around the Florida half-mile.  Daniel Dye clocked a 17.648-second lap time to place second in the time trial session.

Jett Noland registered the third-fastest lap of the session.  However, the slower of his two laps was scored, placing him fifth on the qualifying charts.  The fifth-place effort came in a Super Late Model belonging to Florida racer Jesse Dutilly, which arrived just in time for Noland to qualify in the machine without any practice or preparation.  The dire switch took place after an engine issue in Noland’s Anthony Campi Racing entry during Sunday’s practice sessions.

Kody Swanson’s qualifying effort ended before it started, as the USAC Silver Crown champion hit the outside wall in turn three on his warmup lap.

Noland set fast time in Pro Late Model qualifying.  In that division, Noland has won each of the first two features and looks to continue that streak on Sunday night.
