CONCORD, N.C. — With the beginning of October signifying the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Women’s Auxiliary of Motorsports (WAM) is pleased to announce drivers in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards will carry a special pink ribbon decal during Friday night’s season finale at Kansas Speedway, honoring Shawna Robinson and her continued battle with breast cancer.
Throughout her driving career, Robinson competed in the ARCA Racing Series and all three of NASCAR’s national divisions. Since being diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring of 2014, Robinson has continued to fight the disease gracefully and design with her business, Happy Chair.
In addition to spearheading the pink ribbon decals, the Women’s Auxiliary of Motorsports will make a $500.00 donation to Robinson’s Go Fund Me account. If any teams at Kansas Speedway would like to make a financial donation to Robinson, please visit Cathy Venturini in the ARCA Racing Series garage. WAM also has decals available for any teams in the motorsports community to run during the month of October. Please contact Samantha Jones at [email protected] to arrange delivery.
The Women’s Auxiliary of Motorsports is one of the oldest charities in NASCAR. In 2004, the Winston Cup Racing Wives Auxiliary and the Busch Series Ladies Association merged to become WAM. The auxiliary’s mission is to enrich the lives of women, children and families through educational and wellness programs. WAM also helps support organizations with likeminded missions and purposes.
