Salem, IN – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will head to Toledo Speedway, located in Toledo, Ohio, for this Sunday’s Ross Mortgage 150 Presented by PNC Bank event, which will also include racing action from the ARCA Gold Cup Outlaw Late Models. The event was originally scheduled for April 20th, but was postponed until Sunday because of weather.
Sunday’s series event will be the fifth event of the 23rd season of competition for the ARCA/CRA Super Series. The series opened its 2019 season at Anderson Speedway on April 6th where Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year points leader Jack Dossey III got the win, his first with the series. The series second event of the season was the North/South Super Late Model Challenge 100 at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville on May 5th were Josh Brock got his second ever series win. Florida native Stephen Nasse picked up the victory in the series third event of the season at Bristol Motor Speedway on June 1st. Brian Campbell picked up the win in the series fourth event of the season, the special non-points Money in The Bank 150 at Berlin Raceway on June 10th. Brian Bergakker picked up his first ever series win last Saturday night in the series fifth event of the season at Flat Rock Speedway.
Topping the list of entries to date for Sunday’s Ross Mortgage 150 Presented by PNC Bank is defending event winner Brian Campbell, who after scoring his win at Berlin, has now got 28 total wins with the series, he trails Scott Hantz, the all-time series wins leader by just three victories heading into Sunday’s event.
Current series points leader Josh Brock is entered for Sunday’s event. Besides Brock’s big win in Nashville, he has two other top five finishes in the series events so far this season including a fifth-place finish at the series Anderson Speedway season opener and a fourth-place finish at the series Bristol Motor Speedway event. Brock is locked into the series Chase for the Championship with his win at Nashville, as long as he competes in 70% of the races leading up to the Chase for the Championship.
Three-time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Johnny VanDoorn is also entered. The 2013 event winner is tied for third with former series Champion Brian Ross for most ever series wins with 22. VanDoorn picked up his first ever JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour victory at Birch Run Speedway on May 18th.
Two time series Champion and current ARCA Menards Series competitor Travis Braden is entered for Sunday’s race. Braden is currently tied for seventh in series all time wins with 10. Braden is competing full-time with the ARCA Menards Series in 2019.
Jack Dossey III is entered for his first ever race at Toledo Speedway. The 2017 and 2018 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Champion started his season off with his first ever ARCA/CRA Super Series victory at Anderson over Braden and comes in fifth in Championship points and is locked into the Chase for the Championship with his win at Anderson.
2016 series Champion and former series event winner at Toledo Speedway Cody Coughlin is entered. Coughlin competed with the NASCAR Gander Mountain Truck Series the last three seasons but is running in selected ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour events in 2019.
Three-time ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Scott Hantz is entered. Hantz’s 2013 win at Flat Rock Speedway was his last series win to date, he looks to end that streak this Sunday.
Other CRA drivers also entered include 2017 series Champion and Senneker Performance Rookie of the Year Logan Runyon, current third place in series points Hunter Jack, second place finisher Saturday at Flat Rock Kyle Crump, current sixth in series points Greg Van Alst and Shadybowl Speedway Late Model Champion Josh Smith.
Teammates Harold Fair Jr. and Hayden Sprague are both entered in their Ross Mortgage sponsored machines, with veteran racer Harold Fair and Fair Jr. turning the wrenches and coaching the young teenage racer Sprague.
Former Toledo Outlaw Late Model and ARCA Menards Series competitor Michael Simko is entered to race Saturday night. Simko finished fifth in last Saturday’s event at Flat Rock Speedway.
Canadian racer and former JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour competitor Brandon Watson is entered, as is East Ohio racer and racetrack owner Mike Mazzagatti.
Pit Gates open on Sunday at 10am. The ARCA/CRA Super Series will have two 30-minute practice sessions starting at 12:20pm. Hamke Race Cars/Rowdy Manufacturing Qualifying will begin at approximately 2:30pm for the ARCA/CRA Super Series. The Ross Mortgage 150 Presented by PNC Bank is set to begin at 3pm with the ARCA Gold Cup Outlaw Late Models 50 lap feature followed by the 100-lap feature for the ARCA/CRA Super Series.
