And The 2020 FK Rod Ends Short Track Driver of the Year Is…

Rising to the challenge is what separates a top-notch driver from the rest of the pack. Whether it’s dominating a race, going on a winning streak or sealing a win with a late-race pass, drivers slowly rise to the top of the field and make a name for themselves.

That’s why FK Rod Ends, who has nearly 10,000 combinations of rod ends and spherical bearings available and carefully crafts their products, is proud to honor the 2020 “Team FK Driver of the Year” from the short track ranks of America on

Throughout the 2020 racing season, an esteemed panel of short track industry insiders voted on which driver had the most success on the track. The driver with the most votes was awarded “FK Rod Ends Driver of the Month.”

Now, with the 2020 season concluded, we have calculated the votes from throughout the season to determine the “Team FK Driver of the Year.”

After winning an astounding 46 races and posting a near-.500 mark, Kyle Larson has been named the FK Rod Ends Driver of the Year.

Larson’s 2020 started off with a win in New Zealand before coming back to the United States and breaking through for his first Chili Bowl triumph after several near-misses.  He also won at East Bay Raceway Park during Speedweeks with the All Star Circuit of Champions.

While going full-time in dirt racing wasn’t in the works, a suspension levied by NASCAR changed that.  He won a World of Outlaws feature at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in his fourth start after the COVID-19 break and the rest, as they say, was history.

He would win another 41 races from Memorial Day weekend to December in four different classes of race cars.  Among his triumphs include the Hoosier Hundred and Bettenhausen 100 in a USAC Silver Crown car, Capitani Classic with the World of Outlaws, Indiana Midget Week and PA Sprint Car Speedweek titles, and a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series win at Port Royal Speedway in just his second Dirt Late Model start.

At points in the season, Larson didn’t just win, he flat-out dominated.  He won eight races in a row from June 7 to June 18, then won nine of eleven from July 10 to August 1.  From the World of Outlaws’ season resumption at Knoxville on May 8 through the end of the year, he finished outside the top-ten just five times in 80-plus starts.

For his dominance on dirt and scoring wins across multiple disciplines, Kyle Larson is the 2020 FK Rod Ends Driver of the Year on
