After Two Nail Biters, Wheelman Series Heads to 4-17

The Southeast’s fastest growing touring series, the Brandon Ford Wheelman Sportsman Series, rolls into 4-17 Southern Speedway in Punta Gorda, Florida Saturday night for the seventh race of the 2019 season. Race fans worldwide will be able to watch the 50-lap showdown at America’s most southern short track live on the Speed51 Network.

All that is needed to watch Saturday’s live broadcast is a monthly or yearly subscription to the Speed51 Network.  A premium subscription will give race fans access to the live broadcast, as well as highlights and select live broadcasts of the Wheelman Sportsman Series in 2019.

Kicking off the second half of the 12-race season, the “One Track Wonder” Patrick Thomas comes in with a hefty 60-point lead over Rex Struble in the championship standings.  Defending series champion Jesse Henley sits fifth in the standings, fresh off of his win at Citrus County Speedway on May 25.

Tommy Kelly will also be making his way down to his home track this weekend as the Punta Gorda native qualified on the pole, drew a 13-car inversion and wound up in victory lane the last time the Brandon Ford Wheelman Series visited 4-17 Southern Speedway.

After back to back late-race passes for the win in the series’ last two races, this weekend’s race is bound to be a nail biter.

Fans can watch the Brandon Ford Wheel Man Series competitors go to battle Saturday night at 4-17 Southern Speedway (FL) with Speed51’s live video stream available to premium subscribers on the Speed51 Network starting at approximately 8:30 p.m. ET.
