Behind every great driver is a great team. The crew members that put in countless hours at the shop and at the track sometimes do not receive the recognition deserved for a job well done. The combination of a great driver and a great crew is the recipe for making great things happen on the track.
That’s why the team at PitBoxes.com, who specialize in fabricating a high quality line of standard and custom pit boxes, is proud to honor a monthly “Pit Crew of the Month” from the short track ranks of America on Speed51.com. Each month, an esteemed panel of short track industy insiders will vote on which pit crew helped lead their driver to success on the track. The pit crew with the most votes will then be the “PitBoxes.com Pit Crew of the Month” and will receive a $100 product certificate to use at PitBoxes.com. At the end of the 2016 season, the pit crew that received the most votes throughout the season will then be the “PitBoxes.com Pit Crew of the Year” and will be awarded a $1,000 product certificate to PitBoxes.com. Super Late Models
Two races. Two race tracks. 450 miles apart. That was the story for the Jett Motorsports team this past weekend as they competed in the Southern Super Series race at Five Flags Speedway (FL) and the Bright House Challenge Series race at New Smyrna Speedway (FL).
With new driver Jeff Choquette behind the wheel of the team’s No. 9 Super Late Model, the Jett team recorded a strong runner-up finish Friday night against a field of 36 cars at Five Flags. Having no time to waste, the team quickly loaded up the race car following the race and began the seven-hour drive overnight to New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Running on a minimal amount of sleep, the team unloaded the car at New Smyrna Speedway Saturday afternoon and were fast right out of the hauler. Choquette qualified the car third and started on the pole following an invert of three. From that point on it was pure domination for Choquette and the Jett Motorsports crew as they went on to lead all 100 laps of the Bright House Challenge Series opener.
For their dedication and hard work driving overnight to compete at two race tracks located 450 miles apart, the Jett Motorsports team has been named Speed51’s PitBoxes.com Pit Crew of the Month for May.
