Behind every great driver is a great team. The crew members that put in countless hours at the shop and at the track sometimes do not receive the recognition deserved for a job well done. The combination of a great driver and a great crew is the recipe for making great things happen on the track.
That’s why the team at PitBoxes.com, who specialize in fabricating a high quality line of standard and custom pit boxes, is proud to honor a monthly “Pit Crew of the Month” from the short track ranks of America on Speed51.com. Each month, an esteemed panel of short track industy insiders will vote on which pit crew helped lead their driver to success on the track. The pit crew with the most votes will then be the “PitBoxes.com Pit Crew of the Month” and will receive a $100 product certificate to use at PitBoxes.com. At the end of the 2016 season, the pit crew that received the most votes throughout the season will then be the “PitBoxes.com Pit Crew of the Year” and will be awarded $1,000 product certificate to PitBoxes.com. The Parker Stephens Pit Crew
Super Late Models
Parker Stephens’ 2016 racing season didn’t start according to plan. While testing for the 2nd annual Winter Showdown at Kern County Raceway Park (CA), the Washington native demolished his No. 28 machine.
At that point, one may have thought that Stephens’ chances of racing for the win were demolished as well. But that wasn’t the case. The NTS Motorsports team went to work for six long, hard nights to get the No. 28 car race ready.
Stephens showed up for Winter Showdown qualifying on Saturday not really knowing what to expect. What he found out was that he had a race car that would give him a shot at winning the $30,000 top prize. Then NTS Motorsports driver started and finished third in the fast 12 qualifier to earn himself a starting spot on the inside of the second row for Sunday’s race.
Throughout the race Sunday afternoon, Stephens could be found racing his No. 28 near the front. He rebounded from a late spin to get back into the runner-up spot in the closing laps and began to challenge eventual race winner Bubba Pollard. Despite falling short in the end, his performance turned many heads, especially considering what had happened just six days prior.
For their hard work in getting the No. 28 repaired and fast enough to have a shot at winning the Winter Showdown, Parker Stephens’ NTS Motorsports team has been named 51’s Pit Crew of the Month for the month of February.
