Robert Ballou is $20,000 richer after turning in an impressive performance and claiming the biggest win of his career in the Budweiser Oval National at Perris Auto Speedway (CA) on Saturday night. Ballou didn’t necessarily dominate the prestigious 40-lap feature event, but there were no questions asked about his dominance when the weekend came to an end at the Perris, California half-mile clay oval.
In addition to his win in the big money event on Saturday night, Ballou also pocketed the victory in the 30-lap preliminary event when the weekend schedule commenced on Friday evening. During that race, his presence was well known as he went on to lead flag-to-flag en route to grabbing the win and securing himself a spot in Saturday’s main event.
From there, Ballou wouldn’t take the lead until lap 31 of the 40-lap Oval Nations main event, but he would wind up leading the most important lap – the final one – on his way to the big pay day. The weekend wins for Ballou were his fourth and fifth of the season, and the eighth and ninth of his career.
For his dominating performance during the $20,000-to-win Budweiser Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway this weekend, Robert Ballou is this week’s winner of the Maxima Racing Oils Dominator Award on Speed51.com. Ballou will receive a product certificate from Maxima Racing Oils.
