For the week: June 2-June 8, 2014
Mother Nature had been the most formidable opponent for each and every one of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour drivers over the past three weeks. On two separate Friday nights, beginning with May 23, rain forced the postponement of the TSI Harley-Davidson 125 event at Connecticut’s Stafford Motor Speedway.
Finally, on June 6, Mother Nature stepped aside and let Doug Coby take over dominating Stafford.
Coby took the lead from pole sitter Bobby Santos III on lap seven and the Milford, Connecticut driver never looked back. Coby withstood the three-week delay in getting to the race’s checkered flag, which came following a final green-white-checkered restart.
For his historic performance at Stafford Motor Speedway, Doug Coby is this week’s Maxima Racing Oils Dominator. Coby will receive a product certificate from Maxima Racing Oils.
