For the week: June 16-June 22, 2014
Mark Mason had everything going his way. Two straight Late Model feature event victories at Indiana’s Angola Motorsport Speedway had him riding a wave of dominance. Then, in an instant, the equipment that led him to the success went up in flames on his way home from the June 21 event at Angola. To read more about the fire and Mason’s reaction, click here.
Mason’s trailer erupted in flames, destroying all of the racing equipment the veteran racer owned – including the car that had just won its second-straight feature just a few hours before.
Thankfully, no one was injured, but everything that Mason brought to the racetrack was gone.
Instantly fellow racers and companies involved in the motorsports world began stepping up to help Mason rebuild his racing operation. Some racers have offered cars for Mason to drive, while some companies have volunteered parts or services to get Mason back to his short track dominance.
With the right amount of help, Mason will return to the track, proving that even in the worst of times, racers are some of the most dedicated athletes of any sport.
For his dedication to the sport and with hopes that he can quickly rebound and return to the track, Mark Mason is this week’s Maxima Racing Oils Dominator. Mason will receive a product certificate from Maxima Racing Oils.
