For the week: July 28 through August 3, 2014

Danny Bohn won his first NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour race in October of 2012.  Since then, a second victory had eluded the Freehold, New Jersey native.

Saturday night at Bowman Gray Stadium, Bohn left little doubt that the Strutmasters.com 199 NWSMT event would finally be his time to shine once again.

Bohn was quickest in the lone 45-minute practice session at Bowman Gray and set fast time in qualifying.  He led all but three laps officially according to NASCAR timing and scoring en route to his second career NWSMT victory.  It was one that nearly went away on the white-flag lap, when soon-to-be-lapped cars tangled right ahead of leaders Bohn and Kyle Ebersole.  One of those traffic cars made contact with Bohn as he tried to escape the melee, sending Bohn’s No. 65 for a spin in turn two.  He never stopped on the track and kept momentum going, so he was able to finish off his dominant performance with a trip to victory lane.

For his dominant performance at Bowman Gray, Danny Bohn is this week’s Maxima Racing Oils Dominator.  Bohn will receive a product certificate from Maxima Racing Oils.
