With temperatures pushing 90-degrees almost everywhere, humidity off the charts, and the racing season going strong, that can only mean one thing. It’s officially summer. And that means that Speed51’s ’51 Days of Summer’ have begun as well.
The 51 Days of Summer kicked off this past weekend with the running of the Summer Showdown at Washington’s Evergreen Speedway. The 51 Days of Summer will come to an end with another big race, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at the Bristol Motor Speedway (TN) in August.
But there’s plenty of big races in the mean time. Races like the Kalamazoo Klash at Kalamazoo Speedway (MI), the Dixieland 250 at the Wisconsin International Raceway, the Summer Sizzler at New Paris Speedway (IN), the Redbud 300 at Anderson Speedway (IN) and many more are all happening during the 51 Days of Summer.
In addition to all of the big races happening during the 51 Days of Summer, another big event is taking place in less than one week. America celebrates its Independence on Monday, July 4 and to help celebrate we’ve changed the theme of Speed51.com to reflect that.
Here’s what we want from you race fans. We want to know what races you’re headed to. We want to see pictures from the races you’re attending. We want to see it all, and we want you to show us using the hashtag #51DaysofSummer on Twitter.
Summer is here, it’s time to have fun, and time to go racing during the #51DaysofSummer.
