Speed51.com and the ARCA Midwest Tour started a new partnership in 2014 with the Midwest Tour Live trackside updates on the series’ website, ARCAMidwestTour.com. The partnership has been a success for both parties in providing updates for the series’ current and new fan as they travel across the Midwest for top-level Super Late Model racing.
Unfortunately for ARCAMT fans across the country, this weekend’s event at Elko Speedway in Elko, Minnesota will not have Midwest Tour Live coverage per the request of the Speedway management.
“It is disappointing that we are unable to provide the Midwest Tour Live coverage this weekend at Elko Speedway. While we respect the track’s decision, we disagree with their reason to not allowing us to be there,” Matt Kentfield, Speed51.com Executive Director said. “The ARCA Midwest Tour has fans all across the Midwest and beyond who may not be able to travel to Elko this weekend. Sadly, we won’t be able to do that for this event. It’s even more disappointing because the event is a huge awareness boost and fundraiser for ALS research, a cause we fully support at 51, but we we still wish the track the best for their event.”
Speed51.com’s signature Trackside Now and its Midwest Tour Live at-track updates are designed to help fans stay up to date with their favorite race event or series when they are not able to attend the event in person. Speed51.com continues to encourage fans to support their local short tracks by seeing events in person and to use 51’s coverage to help enhance their experience, while also encouraging attendance of future events.
