Race fans from all over the country will have the ability to watch all of the action from the North-South Shootout at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, North Carolina on Saturday with the live 51 TV pay-per-view video broadcast. To get ready for Saturday’s action at Caraway, 51 TV offering fans a taste of the action on Friday with a free, limited preview of everything from North-South Shootout qualifying day.
All of 51 TV’s cameras will be in place for Friday’s events, including the Tour-type Modified and PASS South Super Late Model qualifying rounds. Commentary will be provided by the voice of Caraway Speedway, Doug Smith. And while Saturday’s broadcast will have a blackout for all customers within 200 miles of the race track, that blackout will be lifted for Friday’s broadcast for fans to whet their appetite for Saturday’s action, whether they’re attending the race in person or tuning in from afar on 51 TV.
The free limited preview of Friday’s North-South Shootout action will also include feature racing from the Southeast Limited Late Model Challenger division, USAC Midgets, Mini Stocks, Street Stocks and U-Car/Hornet divisions, as well as an if-necessary PASS South Last Chance Race.
Saturday’s racing is highlighted by the 12th Annual John Blewett III North-South Shootout Modified feature. 51 TV’s broadcast will feature the voice of the North-South Shootout, Modified expert and veteran broadcaster Derek Pernesiglio on the call of all the racing action. Alan Dietz, the voice of the PASS South Super Late Models, will have the call for what should be 150 laps of thrilling Super Late Model feature action, as well.

A who’s-who of Modified racing have taken victories in the North-South Shootout since its first running in 2003 at North Carolina’s Concord Speedway before moving to Caraway in 2011. Northampton, Pennsylvania’s Matt Hirschman leads the list with five Shootout victories. NASCAR Modified champions Donny Lia (2004), Burt Myers (2008 and 2009) and Ryan Preece (2009) have also visited victory lane at the North-South Shootout over the years. All winners followed the late John Blewett III there, as the New Jersey great won the inaugural North-South Shootout in 2003.
