The dirt will fly when some of the top grassroots drivers in the country go three-wide to start one of the most prestigious Street Stock races in the nation this weekend.

When the fans in the grandstands rise to their feet and the green flag flies in the Second Annual Southern Street Stock Nationals at Whynot Motorsports Park in Mississippi, a partnership between Speed51.com and Street Stock Nation will bring all the door-banging and mud-slinging excitement to fans across the globe.

51 will host live Trackside Now coverage of the $3,000-to-win Street Stock event as a presentation of Street Stock Nation, the premiere source for Street Stock photos, news and information.

“It’s an honor to bring this great event to race fans across the world through our partnership with Speed51.com,” said Street Stock Nation’s Jody Salter.  “It’s not just the biggest Street Stock race in Mississipp, but it’s going to be where the best Street Stock drivers from all over the Southeast will be.  We’ll be there with live updates of the twin features, both paying $1,000 to win, Friday night, plus live coverage of the $3,000-to-win, $40,000 purse main event on Saturday.”

The Southern Street Stock Nationals isn’t your ordinary Street Stock race.  The main events will feature three-wide starts for big money at race’s end.  Also, if a driver was to go “topless” by taking off the roof of their car, it could mean an additional $500 bonus.

All that, plus some of the South’s top Street Stock racers battling it out throughout the weekend at one of the toughest dirt tracks in the land, makes this year’s Southern Street Stock Nationals a can’t-miss.

“I would say the racing will be extremely intense, the best of the best will be there,” said Salter.  “Winning this race is like being crowned ‘King of the South’ in Street stocks.  Guys are pumped up like it’s the World 100 or some other big dirt event.”

Speed51.com, the leader in live short track event coverage, partnered with Street Stock Nation in early 2014, but this will be the first time that the two will combine for a live event coverage.

“Even before Speed51.com was founded and grew to be what it is today, we were fans in the grandstands hooting and hollering for our favorite drivers in the Street Stock divisions at our local tracks,” said Speed51.com Executive Director Matt Kentfield.  “Bob Dillner, our site founder, started following Street Stock Nation on Facebook for that reason and we all quickly followed when we saw how great they covered that scene.  When we got a chance to work with Jody and everyone at Street Stock Nation this year and developed it into our first-time Trackside Now coverage of a Street Stock event this weekend, we were even more pumped up.”

“This partnership with 51  is huge to me and the sport of Street Stock racing” added Salter.  “I’m very excited to have a huge company like 51 being a part of Street Stock Nation and helping give this race and its drivers the coverage they deserve. It’s really cool to know that Bob and the 51 staff have such an interest in these cars, want to stand behind us and be a part of Street Stock Nation during the Southern Street Stock Nationals.”

Driven Steering Wheels (www.drivensteering.com) and Dog House Chassis will present the Speed51.com / Street Stock Nation live Trackside Now coverage Friday and Saturday.

Live coverage will begin at 7pm CDT Friday and at 6:30pm CDT.  The live coverage can be found on www.speed51.com.
