Dirt racing fans will have a new source for news, information and updates during the 2016 racing season. Speed51.com powered by JEGS, the 100% Short Track Racing news source, unveiled a new Twitter account – @51Dirt – Wednesday afternoon specifically for dirt racing updates.
The new account will provide dirt racing fans with both live and on-demand updates from Dirt Modified (Northeast & Southeast) and Outlaw Kart events throughout North America.
“Most race fans have always recognized Speed51.com as an outlet that primarily covers pavement racing, but over the past few seasons we’ve experienced tremendous growth with our coverage of dirt racing,” said Brandon Paul, Editor of Speed51.com. “This is another step that we’re taking in order to provide the dirt racing fan base more in-depth coverage of the sport that they love.”
“I grew up going to Dirt Modified races in the Northeast every summer and we really enjoy the great Outlaw Kart racing at Millbridge Speedway; those are two of the reasons why we are doing this,” said Bob Dillner, Executive Editor of Speed51.com. “We look forward to covering the Northeast Big-Block and 358 Modifieds as well as some of the great Dirt Modified racing in the Southeast.”
Much of the focus on the @51Dirt Twitter account will be on the Dirt Modifieds that compete on the East Coast. The account will feature updates from Super DIRTcar Series, RoC Dirt Modified Tour, Southeast Dirt Modified Series and Short Tracks Super Series events. Races from weekly venues will also be covered as much as possible on @51Modifieds as well.
Live coverage on the new @51Dirt Twitter feed will begin Wednesday night with updates from the “Prelude to the 51 Open” Outlaw Kart event at Millbridge Speedway (NC). The night will serve as the final night for teams to prepare for next Wednesday’s $5,151 QRC Speed51 Open at the track.
So what are you waiting for? Put your favorite pair of dirt racing goggles on and follow @51Dirt on Twitter for the latest results, news and information.
