$5,000 on the Line for ULTMATE Supers at Cherokee

The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series rolls on this weekend at Cherokee Speedway, competing for a $5,000 prize Saturday, May 8 at “The Place Your Momma Warned You About.”

The Big Chief Forty at Cherokee Speedway is paying $5,000 to the winner in one more race in the Carolinas for the ULTIMATE Super Late Models before they take part in a Virginia doubleheader on May 14-15.

The ULTIMATE Super Late Models are coming off a doubleheader weekend in the Palmetto State, racing at both Laurens County Speedway and Lancaster Motor Speedway.  Zack Mitchell scored the win on Friday night at Laurens County, while Cla Knight earned his first career ULTIMATE victory in the Saturday race at Lancaster.

There have been four different winners in the first four ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series events of 2021.

With that, there have been four different winners in the first four ULTIMATE races of 2021.  Dustin Mitchell won the season opener at Lake View Motor Speedway, while Brandon Overton was victorious in the second race of the season at Modoc Raceway.

Meanwhile, there is an intense battle atop the ULTIMATE points standings at this early stage of the season.  Anthony Sanders currently holds an eight-point advantage over three drivers tied for second, including Mitchell, Knight and Matthew Nance.

Last year, ULTIMATE made its return to Cherokee Speedway for the first time since 2011.  The series made two trips to the Gaffney, South Carolina facility on the year, with Chris Ferguson winning both events.  Ferguson is once again expected to be on hand, along with the rest of the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series contingency.
