The 44th Rattler Weekend at South Alabama Speedway has been rescheduled for April 3-5.
With growing concerns surrounding COVID-19 and its effects on the nation, track officials decided to postpone the event scheduled for this weekend.
"We are just as disappointed as everyone else that the Rattler event has to be postponed," said John Dykes, owner of South Alabama Speedway. "However, the speedway is ready to start the season when the mass gathering recommendations are lifted. We thank our fans and race teams for understanding the situation and look forward to them joining us at the rescheduled event in April."
The rescheduled event will maintain the same structure as the original, with racing action on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
A full card of local division racing, plus Super and Pro Late Model practice will take place on Friday. Saturday features the Grasshopper PLM 125 presented by JR's Lawnmower Shop, as well as features for Modifieds, Road Runners and Mini-Cups.
The 44th Annual Hardee's Rattler 250 will go green on Sunday at 2 p.m.
All reserved tickets and camping purchased for the original event will be honored on the makeup event weekend.
