Toledo, OHIO: ARCA’s Gold Cup Late Model race series schedule for 2015 is now set, and a new race and venue has been added to bring the total number of events to 6 for the upcoming season.
The Main Event Series and the Gold Cup Series will team up for a 100 lap contest at Sandusky, OH Speedway Saturday night, June 20. The two groups have worked together for the past 2 years for a race at Toledo Speedway, and will now again join forces for the new event date in 2015 at Sandusky.
Each driver will receive points for both groups, according to their respective point systems.
Toledo Speedway is the site of the first ARCA Gold Cup race, set for Saturday afternoon, April 11 at the ½ mile paved oval. The outlaw-bodied Late Models will compete in a 100 lap feature as one half of the 7-Up Twin 100’s. The ARCA/CRA Super Series and ARCA Midwest Tour stock-bodied Late Models will comprise the other half of this event, which kicks off Toledo’s new schedule, and also unofficially opens the pavement Late Model season in the area.
The prestigious Joy Fair Memorial 100 is the next date on the Gold Cup Series Saturday, June 6 at Flat Rock Speedway. The combination Gold Cup/Main Event race at Sandusky is set for Saturday night, June 20 and then it’s back to Toledo Friday night, July 10 for another 100 lap contest, race number 4 of the Series.
One of the most competitive Late Model events in the Midwest is set for Saturday, July 25 at Flat Rock, as the Moran Chevrolet-Stan Yee Memorial 150 hits the ¼ mile paved oval. The Gold Cup Series concludes with race number 6, back at Toledo for the Miller Lite 100, which is a combination event with the Main Event Late Model Series. That date is Friday evening, August 14.
Flat Rock and Toledo’s complete 2015 schedules will be released during the holiday season.
