“The Most Popular Driver voting is one of the most anticipated features each year on,” said Bob Dillner, motorsports broadcaster and owner of  “ARbodies has been a great partner and has helped build this into one of the most heated off-track competitions in short track racing.  It’s great to have their support and to see how many drivers promote their votes on their websites and social media.  We’ve even seen some drivers promote votes by putting “Vote for Me” decals on their racecars in recent seasons.  This is one award that every Late Model driver wants to win and it’ll be interesting to see how far some racers will go to get their passionate fan bases to click votes their way on”

Cole Williams, a driver at Lebanon I-44 Speedway in Missouri, was the 2013 Late Model Most Popular Driver as voted by the fans.  In 2012, Kenzie Ruston became the first female driver to win the title of Late Model Most Popular Driver.

The MPD program began in 2007 with Florida and Alabama Pro Late Model regular Andy Pugh taking the fans’ vote.  In the 2008 voting, ARCA Midwest Tour regular Nick Murgic received the most votes.  In 2009, the MPD voting expanded from Pro Late Model, Super Late Model and Late Model Stock touring series to include weekly tracks that have Late Model divisions that utilize the Approved Body Configuration (ABC) body style.  Ross Kenseth, son of former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Matt Kenseth, took in the most votes in a close tally with another Cup Champ’s kid, Chase Elliott, and Texan Dillon Spreen.  Texan Trey Mitchell won the overall balloting in 2010.  Josh Berry, a JR Motorsports Late Model driver, won the award in 2011.
