Chamberlain made his first Super Late Model appearance at Richmond last fall, competing with ULTIMATE HoA in the Bluegrass Nationals.  On that night, he scored a 12th place finish.  This weekend, Chamberlain is bringing a new car to Richmond and gunning for a top-10 finish.

“We’re bringing out a brand-new car that hasn’t been raced.  That’s something to look forward to.  Hopefully we can make the race, make laps and try to pull off a top 10.

The new car project has taken place throughout the offseason, and is now ready to go to battle at “The Beast of the East.”

“It’s been in the works since the end of the racing season last year.  We got it done about a month ago.  Since the beginning of the year and the tracks are rough, we were using our older car and put laps on it.  Now that the tracks are starting to smooth out, we’re bringing the new car out.”

Chamberlain is entering his first full season of Super Late Model racing after moving up to the cars during the latter part of 2020.  Before competing in Dirt Late Models, Chamberlain cut his teeth racing go-karts, including wins in the Junior Sportsman and Junior 3 classes of the Rumble at Fort Wayne as well as track championships at Little Eldora Speedway.

Tristan Chamberlain is a multi-time track champion at Little Eldora Speedway, as well as a winner in the Junior Sportsman and Junior 3 classes of the Rumble at Fort Wayne.

“I started out in go-karts.  I’ve been racing that for about four years.  In the 2020 season, I got a crate car and raced that for about eight races.  Then, my dad felt comfortable with me and we moved up to a Super and finished out the year in a Super.”

With a new car and lessons learned from his last trip to Richmond, Chamberlain believes he can improve on the showing from last October.

“I think it’s just experience on the track, figuring out what the right line is and how to drive the track since it was my first time there.  This time, I think I’ll really get the handle of it.  Since it’s a brand-new car, I think it will be even better with the set-ups and stuff like that.”
