Guess what, race fans? It’s March, and that means spring is just around the corner and the Short Track Racing season is just about ready to get into full swing.  A handful of race tracks in the Carolinas kick off their seasons, and even more around the country will drop the green flag this weekend on 2016.

  1. PASS – Dillon Motor Speedway

The Pro All-Stars Series South will see the green flag fly on its second race of the season on Saturday evening at South Carolina’s Dillon Motor Speedway.  It’s the ‘South Carolina Clash’ and that’s always a great show. Feature racing is set to begin at 5 p.m. ET and the card will even feature a 60-lap race for the weekly Late Model division.

  1. NWAAS – Caraway Speedway

  1. World of Outlaws – Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Tonight is the final night of a double-header at the dirt track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for “The Greatest Show on Dirt,” the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars.  On Thursday night it was the “Brownsburg Bullet” Joey Saldana who took the win out in the desert.  If you’re out in Vegas for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend, make sure to take in the Outlaws tonight.

  1. NWAAS – Hickory Motor Speedway

“The Birthplace of the NASCAR Stars” kicks off its 2016 season on Saturday night with a 100-lap, $2,000-to-win Late Model Stock race.  Josh Berry has been as dominant as it gets at Hickory over the past few seasons and is expected to be the man to beat on Saturday night.  The racing card gets underway at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday night.

  1. Southern All Stars – Cherokee Speedway

If you’re looking for some good Dirt Late Model action, look no further than Cherokee Speedway in South Carolina right off of I-85.  The Southern All Stars have a double-header at the fast clay oval on Saturday and Sunday.

  1. Ultimate Super Late Model Series – North Georgia Speedway

Maybe you live a little farther south than South Carolina but you’re still looking for Dirt Late Models.  If that’s the case, head to North Georgia Speedway for the season-opening race for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series on Saturday afternoon.

  1. World of Outlaws – Arizona Speedway

The Outlaws continue their western swing on Sunday night at the Arizona Speedway.  The high-banked, 1/3-mile dirt oval is hosting the Outlaws for the very first time.  Racing is set to begin at 6 p.m.

  1. USMTS – Southern Oklahoma Speedway

The rough and tumble Dirt Modifieds of the USMTS are running on Saturday and Sunday in Oklahoma at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway.  So far Ryan Gustin has been on a tear, winning four races already this season.

  1. Lucas Oil ASCS – Hattiesburg Motorsports Park

It’s all about the dirt this weekend, and that’s the case in Mississippi this weekend when the winged Sprint Cars of the Lucas Oil ASCS come to Hattiesburg Motorsports Park.  Hot laps start at 7 p.m. with racing set to begin at 8 p.m.

  1. Outlaw Karts – Millbridge Speedway

Weekly racing kicks off at North Carolina’s fastest 1/6-mile oval of Millbridge Speedway in Salisbury, NC this Wednesday night.  The Outlaw Karts will headline as usual, and if you can’t make it out to the race track, that’s okay.  With special thanks to QRC Factory Karts, Speed51 TV will broadcast all of the action on Wednesday night live for free.
