Now that we’re at the second weekend in May, the Short Track Racing season is finally in full swing.  Touring series are reaching the heart of their seasons, and weekly racing venues have kicked off their schedules for the spring and summer.  With so many places in action it’s hard to narrow down the 10 races that you should try to head to, but we pulled it off in this weekend’s 10 to Attend.

  1. Masters of the Pros 144 at Lebanon I-44 Speedway (MO): One of the biggest Pro Late Model races of the year takes place on Saturday night at Missouri’s only remaining pavement track.  The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour has more than 40 cars entered to try to win the green jacket.  Race fans that can’t make it out to Lebanon, Missouri can watch the Speed51 TV pay-per-view video stream here:

  1. RoC Modified Tour and Supermodifieds at Oswego Speedway (NC): The Race of Champions Asphalt Modifieds head to the “Steel Palace” of Oswego Speedway in Upstate New York on Saturday to pay tribute to the greatest Modified driver of all time.  It’s the Richie Evans Memorial Memorial 61 for the RoC tour, and they will be joined by the Oswego Supermodifieds who will go 50 laps in their season opener.

  1. Buckeye Nationals at Atomic Speedway (OH): Jonathan Davenport, Scott Bloomquist and all of the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are headed to the Buckeye State for the Buckeye Nationals on Saturday night.  They will be joined at Atomic Speedway by the Modifieds of the Renegades of Dirt Series.

  1. Cabin Fever 100 at State Park Speedway (WI): The ARCA Midwest Tour heads to Wisconsin’s State Park Speedway for a 100-lap showdown on Saturday night where Ty Majeski will look to continue his dominance.

  1. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at New London-Waterford Speedbowl (CT): For the third time this season the ground-pounders of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will take the green flag, but for the first time on a short track.  Timmy Solomito and Doug Coby have won the first two races this year.

  1. Modifieds of Mayhem at Five Flags Speedway (FL): The panhandle of Florida is about to experience some Mayhem when the Modifieds of Mayhem visit the home of the Snowball Derby on Friday night.

  1. PASS North at Speedway 95 (ME): Ben Rowe is looking for another win, but so is the rest of the PASS North field when they invade Maine’s Speedway 95 on Sunday afternoon.  They will be joined by the Northeast Mini Stock Tour.

  1. Northwest SLM Series at Spokane County Super Oval (WA): The Northwest Super Late Model Series will go 125 laps at one of Washington State’s premier ovals on Saturday night.

  1. Late Model Stocks at Orange County Speedway (NC): Late Model Stock Cars will do battle at one of North Carolina’s fastest and most challenging race tracks on Saturday night.

  1. NWAAS Modifieds at Bowman Gray Stadium (NC): After a wild and controversial season opener last week the Modifieds will be back in action for a 100-lap race at Bowman Gray Stadium.
